Hi Folks, I'm lead to believe you can get a .63 and a .33 focal reducer that will crew into an ep filter thread 1.25" or even a 2" ep thread is apparently available .. does anyone know where I could find one to fit to the nose of my ccd ? i uSE A .63 fr at the moment, but the fov is still a bit tight .. i'm hoping that a .33 will make things open up a little more, the thought of having one on the nose of mhy ccd instead of into the 'core' optical train is appealing :)

Cheers,
al.

Hi Al, you might try Steve Moggs focal reducers for webcams (http://home.earthlink.net/~celstark/id7.html), they might do the job. I don't know much about them, but have a good read of the site there is a lot of info there.

Yep, Steven Mogg, as Paul said. A great guy to deal with as well.

Hi al,
Celestron make a cheap focal reducer to fit in the nose of their neximage lunar/planetary camera. I saw it priced at about 20 pounds stirling somewhere in the UK so its not an expensive item. On the other hand you could buy a small achromatic lens from the "surplus shed " and make your own.

Thanks Philip, I've got the mogg one turning up 'any day now' so if it's a fizzer, I'll follow up on your suggestions.
