I am currently running Windows XP in VirtualBox on my Macbook. However, I've run into the dreaded Windows unrecognised USB device everytime I try to use a USB thumbdrive. This is a common bug with Virtualbox and is countered by running the virtual machine on 1 core not 2 or more. This however results in a performance hit.

So, I'll put the question out there - what is recommended for a reliable virtual environment for XP in the mac world?

Bootcamp is not the preferred option as I don't game with it and don't want the shutdown hassle for switching environments.

I've been using VMWare Fusion and Windows XP on my MacBook for quite a while with no issues. Runs all my astro software and hardware no worries. EQMod, MaximDL, etc.

Hard to say if it's better or worse than Parallels because I've never used Parallels. But I'm sure both are fairly similar.

I'm going back and forth between Fusion and Parallels. Both work for me, I don't see much of a difference.

Cheers
