HST this evening

Hi all,

Here's the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) passing over Brisbane this evening. It was nice and bright (magnitude 1), passing between the bright stars Canopus and Sirius just after 7pm.

This is a series of 6 second exposures with the Canon 50D and Tokina 11-16mm lens at f/2.8 and 1600 iso, stacked them using Startrails software. At the end of the pass I closed the aperture down to f/11 and did a bit of light painting with a multi-coloured LED torch, and included this in the stack :)

Thanks Trevor, Laurie and Ken! First time I've tried light painting like this, and it took a few attempts to get the letters right!
