View Full Version here: : What does the prefix "See" refer to?

Hartung object 256 is named See 78.
Could anyone tell me what the See refers to.
Other examples on a variable star list are RT Capricorni See 412 and RU Capricorni See 420.

See means refer to; i.e for object number 256 also look at object number 78 for other corresponding information.

Chris, that was my first thought but I went to page 78 instead of object 78.

Hi,
There IS a SEE catalogue too :lol: Simbad has it in their dictionary, but it is cited as SEE98 followed by RA and DEC. It is of QSOs
