G'day blokes,

I'm just loading all the drivers and utilities into my new PC with windows 7 pro 64 bit edition.

I am using a 5D MK II and I have been very comfortable with Photoshop Elements 6 for years. I'm thinking if I am doing well with it, I should stick to it....

In saying that, what Camera RAW should I use? I found this page (http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=106&platform=Windows), but not sure what's what.

Baz.

Have you looked at Lightroom 4? I find it great for maintaining my image catalog as well as post-processing. It will handle your raw files, and you can convert them to .dng as you import them.

I'm not sure how Elements works, but Photoshop/Lightroom automatically uses Adobe Camera RAW to import RAW images... i.e. you don't have download it separately (except for updates).

I agree with Adam's suggestion to check out Lightroom. I (and many pro photographers) use it to manage the thousands of raw photos that you can accumulate after each shot - it makes editing and rendering large batches of photos very easy.

Both Photoshop and Lightroom are available for download from Adobe's website as full unencumbered trial versions for 30 days:
