Sorry to ask, but when I d/load this file from Skywatcher's website in Canada, when I go to open it with Winzip, it shows it's a Sounds System File (SSF) Is it my PC or what that is causing this? I've tried d/loading on two different machines and both come back showing it's an SSF file. WinZip just won't open it. What now?
Thanks for reading.

Just because it has the extension .ssf doesn't mean it's a "Sounds System File" it just means that some program on your computer has associated the extension .ssf with it.
I know nothing about SkyScan but that file is most probably the actual firmware image so I assume you need a seperate application that will load it onto your hardware, at least that's the way it works with most other firmware upgrades for other hardware (eg. SW SynScan controller).
EDIT: Ahhh didn't see you were talking about SynScan software, you need the SynScan Firmware Loader.
It think this is it: http://www.skywatcher.com/swtinc/customer_support.php?id=106&class1=1&class2=101
Has been a while since I flashed my synscan, but from memory the ssf file is the image that you flash the controller with, that is, you have already unzipped it.
Are you aware that version 3.32 has known issues for southern hemisphere users?
