Hi everyone,

I thought you'd like to know that we've just released AstroTortilla 0.4 at http://astrotortilla.sf.net/

If you've heard about AT before, you might remember all the questions on how to get the whole complicated thing working with that Cygwin environment and having to beg for database files via email. Consider all those problems gone - the new installer does everything for you automatically. Also all the known bugs are gone too.

If you haven't heard of AT, here's a few points:

What you need:
Computer control of
- An ASCOM mount
- A camera with MaximDL, Nebulosity, APT or almost any other software

What you get:
- GoTo accuracy within the arcsecond
- Blind, automatic GoTo calibration
- Automatic, fast polar alignment error measurement.

Feel free to try it out.

Lauri Kangas
and the rest of the AT team here in Finland

Will this work with Losmandy G11 gemini 1 and QHY8L with TCF focuser on C11?

sweet, does this mean its added in astrometry.net web lookup?

If you use ASCOM to control your mount, then yes. How easy it will be depends on what software you use to control QHY8. The focuser makes no difference.

Nope. Astrometry.net Online interface still lacks functionality. Once they put the API up, we'll add it to AstroTortilla. Even the code to do it is done.

The new installer will, however, download and configure everything you need, including the index files.

ahh it uses the 4000 files

seems to work fine, shall have to test it out on polar alignment the next chance i get to set up.

This software is great! My EQ6 doesn't have GoTo and I rely on it's setting circles to get me close to objects. After getting the right settings on AstroTortilla, I am able to plate solve images in less than a minute. I was able to plate solve and then manually move my EQ6 until it put Thor's Helmet right in the centre of my dslr's FOV. Loving it! This will be my way of finding faint fuzzies from now on :D.
