The Explore Scientific 82D series eyepieces are advertised as parfocal across the range, but a thread on Stargazers Lounge suggests otherwise.

Can anyone illuminate this a bit further? How parfocal are they and are there any that clearly aren't?

Thanks in advance.

(PS: I have 2 ES 68D eyepieces - 28mm and 40mm - that are close to parfocal, but not quite. Still some re-focussing required. Both are a long way from being parfocal with a Baader Hyperion 8-24mm clickstop zoom).

No is the short answer.
The longer answer is the 4 82*s I have all require some refocusing...not a huge amount but not what I would call parfocal

Actually, I was surprised to find the 9mm 100 and the 30mm 82 are almost completely parafocal. But that was about it with the ones I have.
