Am considering one more eyepiece between 5-6mm. My ideal focal length is probably around 5.5mm so the Meade seems to the obvious choice. A Pentax XL 5.2mm is also a possibility.
I've read some good things about the Meade but wonder if anyone here has one and would care to comment?
Cheers

:) Hi Morton , I just grabbed the 14mm UWA from here at IIS and to be truthfull , in my SKY90 at f5,5 its only OK . nowhere as good as my 13mm T1 Nagler thats for sure .
But in my f/8 Istar I have just finished building the 14mm is really , really good . Sharp to the edge and like my Panoptics , it seemed to just disappare , nice .
So if the 5.5mm is similar to my 14mm it will be troubled in any scope under about f/6 , but at f/8 and above , world class so I will be keeping the 14mm UWA , oh yes I also like its size and weight , build ,, nice and small(ish) , a good epepiece above f/8 .
Thats my 5c.
Brian.

Thanks Brian. It's now moot as I've bought a used Pentax XL 5.2mm from another member. Narrower field but Pentax comfort and quality.

:) Thanks Morton . Keep us informed as to how Pentax performs in your sweet Stellarvues .
Thanks mate ( I used to have a SV and should never have sold it  )
The 14mm is a nice eyepiece , as I say easily as good as a Pan in longer f/l scopes .

Morton I think you have made the right choice I have the lot and the 6.8 is the best and the 24mm is OK but in an SCT. For lower f ratios I find the Vixen LVWs much better and lighter to use.
