A link with a collection of astronomy software for those who are running Mac.

Some software might be old so just google for the later verison

I am currently running Stellarium, SkySafari and AstroPlanner on my Mac.

Excellent programs. I still need to suss out AstroPlanner more as it is a very powerful and complex package. I just installed DSLR Shutter and will have a play around with it.

If you are running Mac what software do you run for your astronomy needs?

I have the same three astronomy programs. I only got AstroPlanner after I discovered a major deficiency in SkySafari - there is no option to filter the "Tonight's Best" list by magnitude and they don't tell you what size of scope you'd need to view them. I e-mailed them and they said they plan to add this feature, but if you search the web you can see that people have been asking for it for at least 18 months.

Haven't spent much time figuring out AstroPlanner yet. I'm sure it will be useful once I do.

I use multiple programs, these are the main ones

1) Nebulosity 3 for camera control and image processing
2) PHD for Guiding
3) Voyager 4.5 for charts and making screen red
4) Sky Chart for charts
5) Astro IIDC (no longer available)
6) Photoshop for final image processing

AstroPlanner (for field of view and finder charts).
Nebulosity (for stacking)
AstroIIDC (for firewire cam control)
Equinox 6 (planetarium program)
GStarForMac (home baked app to record FW framegrabber images from a Canopus ADVC55 ... images come from a GStar video camera).
FrameExtractor (home baked app to take a Quicktime movie and decompose to individual frames for Neb to align).

I am running Sky X, Equinox Image, Photoshop, CCDOPS, Canon EOS Utility.

Now that camera has been updated on Sky X, it is the only program I need for mount control and imaging.

Cheers
