It might be just a little problem but its frustrating when I want to email someone from their email link on a web page. Currently Firefox defaults to GMail, but I can't get a GMail account because I have no mobile service at home to verify the account application.

I should point out that in Tools, Options, Applications, Mailto my default setting is Outlook not GMail.

What else to I need to kill to get back to making this work? any ideas?

Al.

Do you have the Google toolbar installed?

If so, then it may be that you have "Use Gmail for mailto links" ticked under the toolbar settings (seperate menu from Firefox preferences - little spanner at the end of the bar). This overides everything else and will always result in gmail being opened.

Also check to see if your "default applications" under windows is using outlook. In Win7 this is on the start menu, but there are similar links IIRC for Vista and XP.

Onya Matt! I think that's it. I don't like the Google task bar so had it not showing, but it was installed, and that check box was on.

I'll check that is the Google taskbar thingo doesn't fix it.

Thanks guys!
