I have recently ordered a 24 Pan. I am wondering if I have made the right choice.
I need something around this focal length that performs well to fill a gap in my EP collection. I am not interested in 82 degrees, I think 65 to 70 is enough.
My decision was between a 22 Pan or 24 Pan or 22 LVW.
I know the LVW`s perform well in fast scopes, but are the Pan`s just as good or better???????
Of these three, which one would you prefer for an F5 newt??
I would appreciate any feed back. Cheers.

Relax, you'll love it. Anyone who tells you different is just insecure about their own choices and trying to reassure themselves. You've made a good choice. Your scope, your eye, your eyepiece. Just sit back and enjoy it.
Remember: it isn't whether you win or lose, it's how much fun you have.
(I think I'll just help myself to another glass of red now...)

I've used all 3 in a 10" f/5 newt, and the 24mm pan wins hands down over the 22 pan and 22 LVW.
I've owned both the 22 pan and 22 LVW, and sold them both due to the edge performance in my f/5 scope (I am very critical of edge performance - I can't overlook seagulls).
I don't own the 24mm pan yet, but I've used one in my f/5 dob and it was leaps and bounds ahead of the others. If I could afford one, I would definitely buy it. I don't own anything else in that focal length right now.

You can not go wrong with a 24 mm Pano. A very nice eyepiece.
Don't worry about your choice its the right one for ya:thumbsup:
24 Pano IMO does not beat the 22 LVW "HANDS DOWN"
You can not go wrong with either.:D

I am a 24 Pan owner...I am biased...I've never tried the others you listed.
The 24 Pan is my most used eyepiece...I use it every time I use any of my scopes and I really enjoy using it.
I am confident that you will enjoy it too...and if not, I am sure that there are a whole heap of folks who would love to buy it from you...
Relax and have fun with it when it comes!

My only experience is with the 22 Panoptic, and I have to be honest and say that whilst it is an excellent performer, and is very contrasty, it performs better at f/10 than at f/5. I understand that the 24 Panoptic is a slightly different design to the 22 Panoptic, and performs better at f/5. From what others have said, this seems to be the consensus position.

I'm with Dave on the 24 Pano vs 22 LVW - no hands down winner there for me. The LVW is in fact nicer in some respects, but the 24 Pano would be my choice, having the widest AFOV of 1.25" EPs.
btw. it's best to ask these questions before you place your order for a new eyepiece. :D

Sorry, the "hands down" comment was perhaps exaggerated a little - but it is tonnes better than the 22 Pan. The 22 LVW is definitely better than the 22 Pan.
However IMO the 24pan is still a better performer than the 22LVW in a fast scope. Better enough that I would chose the 24 > 22.

Thank you all for your input.
I just needed some reasurance from observers with experience with the Panoptic 24 in particular. I`m sure I`ll be happy with it. I reckon I`ve made the right choice.
Cheers.
Another vote of confidence for the 24mm Pano.
I love it, it's performed beautifully for me and is one of the first I reach for from my collection.
I'm sure you'll be happy with it.

21mm Denkmeier is better than all these IMO, however, it doesn't have as large a true FOV as the 24mm Panoptic, due to its shorter focal length. The Denk does have better eye relief.
