Finally got around to fix my old laptop 1 year after it stopped... HDD decay.

Anyway I got it to format and reinstall windows, but restarting/rebooting stalls until I enter the Megatrends BIOS screen which tells me P0 is bad, replace but still lets me boot after pressing f1 again.

Is there any way to bypass this so it automatically starts without telling me this?

Now in Windows 7, the fresh install has no USB drivers not Ethernet controllers etc and naturally I have no old driver cabinet to get them out of nor import via internet or USB...likely a DVD will need to be burnt unless there is another way?

Run Repair from the W7 disk to fix the boot. What brand laptop is it ? What Win7 OS are you loading 32 or 64 bit ?

My replacement HDD arrived today so thrown the old out.

The Win7 I installed is x64. Good to have new life back in my beloved old laptop - ASUS has never made a better one yet (I got 8 years out of it before the HDD started misbehaving then die. All other systems still running like a dream.) I will use it for Ethereum mining :)
