I noticed that MyAstroShop only has the 5mm, 13mm and 22mm left in the 1.25" size and all three are reduced to $285. Guess that means they're almost gone as the line was discontinued in 2015.

They're mostly out of stock in the US as well.

I find the LVW field of view a little restrictive. For similar cost you can get the Morpheus with long eye relief, 76 degree FOV and a relatively lightweight body. They're cheaper from the UK than the US.

I don't mind the AFOV but the weight and slightly inferior coatings prevented me from owning more of them. The big question is whether Vixen will replace them with something else. The SSW line only goes up to 14mm and has shorter eye relief.

Won’t be missed here.

They were good and imho much underrated, but there are better eyepieces - starting with the SSW.

Admittedly they remain the only series which - 3.5 to 42mm - weighed roughly the same and could be used in 2” drawtubes without adapter rings.

I’m a bit disppointed Vixen haven’t made a longer SSW - something around 22mm in 1.25” or 30-odd in a 2”. Hence my cheapo 38mm 70 degree SWA.

I was just informed by Vixen that there is not, currently, a replacement for the LVWs on the horizon.
For a while, their eyepiece lineup will consist of the NPL, SLV, and SSW.
