I was looking at the Paracorr yesterday and it comes in a plain cardboard box. I tried it in the bullet case the Pentax XW-30 uses and it fits perfectly! I would also like to put the 24Pano in a case if I can too. Does anyone know where I can buy empty cases? I saw a distributor a week or so ago when browsing the net, but didn't think write them down...so now of course, I can't even remember what I was searching for.
The bullet cases are great for eyepieces and hold the Pentaxs very securely...I like them and would like some more to hold the other bits.
From memory, i think kmart and that sell aluminium cases of different sizes, great for lenses and delicate things, plus they include dividers to space out your items inside..
Just pop in to some of these shops and have a look.

Actually shortly after posting this message, I rang Andrews to order a UHC for the Paracorr and asked about bullet cases. They sell 65mm diameter ones, which "normal" 2" eyepieces will fit in, so I ordered some. Unfortunately, the Paracorr won't fit in this size as it is about 90mm in diameter. So I will have to suss out someone who sells bigger ones.
I have my eyepieces in an aluminium case, with dividers but I have each Pentax in a bullet case which holds them safe and secure. I would like to put my other eyepieces in cases too, once I find them. Should get the ones from Andrews today or tomorrow....hopefully before Ballarat!

I've seen bullet cases advertised on US sites, in fact Scopestuff have several listed here (http://www.scopestuff.com/ss_cas1.htm) Scopestuff are excellent to deal with and orders usually arrive within 10 days.

Matt from Telescopes and Astronomy in SA had plastic bolt cases on display at Little Desert. Though probably nothing big enough to fit an XW30.

Just got my bullet cases this morning, I ordered them yesterday morning! Thanks Andrews and Aussie Post! The Stratus and Pano should fit right in. I will have a look around at work to see if we have some packing foam laying around, like Pentax use. Now to find one around 90mm diameter...maybe I will give Telescopes and Astronomy a bell. Do you have a number? They are not on my list of astro websites....yet.

The T&A website is quite a challenge to navigate: http://www.telescopes-astronomy.com.au/

I had a look yesterday and figured the best way was to send them an email, no answer yet though.
I looked at the ones I got from Andrews and they appear to be exactly the same as the ones Pentax use for their 1 1/4" eyepieces. At $4 each though you wouldn't just order them on their own, but I was getting a 2" UHC as well so the postage wasn't too bad. The other eyepieces should drop right in, I am just waiting for a delivery at work with some of that polystyrene packing stuff Pentax use and then I will be cooking! We used to have some bits lying around, but someone did a cleanup the other day (it wasn't me). Don't you hate that.
How bout a tupper ware container for the paracorr ?
They sell a range down at K mart etc....The softer plastic type ones are ok..
cheers
