Moon, Mercury, Mars, Milky Way... Mmmm
Hi all,
I decided to go for a bit of a drive out of Brisbane this evening, to try and capture the Moon and Mercury below Mars and the Milky Way. This is a single 30 sec exposure with the Tokina 11-16mm @ 11mm, f/2.8 and 3200 iso just at the end of astronomical twilight.
Thanks for looking!
Cheers,
Stephen

good work Stephen
worth the drive-you will have to come up to Blackbutt Range and camp a few nights-we had astronomers from IIS this past new moon.

Thanks very much Laurie, Colin, Mike, Liz and Chris! This was a bit of an experiment really, to see how this lens performs with the relatively bright Moon and Milky Way in the same shot.
Here's a couple more: the first is a repro of the original shot (adjusted colour balance and without labels), and the second was taken about 10 minutes earlier.
Cheers,
Stephen

Yes, excellent capture, I like how the Milky Way seems so long and straight.
