Milky Way Fire

I did some travelling in the Great Sandy Desert last year and was surprised by the number of fires. Most nights you could see small orange domes on the horizon. On this night the fires were pretty close. Image taken with 14mm samyang @ f/2.8.

Thanks Laurie, Mike, Chris, Carlos, Deeno. Just about the right distance from the fire not to blow the shot. Other nights were pretty smoky.

Mike, it should be in my next WA time-lapse compilation... just gotta chain myself to the PC one of these days and finish it!

That is so beautiful, Colin.

There's just so much happening in the frame to keep the eyes engaged.

Can't wait to see this in a timelapse -- those clouds would look so uber!

Thanks H, Stephen, much appreciated guys. Yeah, the clouds were pretty cool in that sequence...typical northern tropical stuff with standing wave like motion.
