Royal National Park

I headed out again tonight for another drive into the RNP, I thought I was going to take some more subs of the LMC (inspired by jjjnette earlier LMC post, check it out it awesome ) instead found myself admiring the landscape under the moonlight + it was too windy for my liking tonight

For those of you who don't know the glowing town below is Wollongong approx approx 80km from Sydney.

Off to bed now. Good night

That's a pretty cool shot Carlos. I like the framing and colors on this.

Yep, I recognise that coastline! It looks like you were a bit north of Bald Hill, possibly near the start of the Cliff Track? I recall that someone took some nice shots of Comet Lovejoy from there. You??

The towers visible in the middle distance are on Maddens Plain. Before they locked it up and installed extra lights I used that as an observing spot. Couldn't recommend it. A far bit of light and lots of turbulence because of the cliff.

My place is basically at the base of the most distant 'hill' where it runs down into the light. I don't observe from home.

Thanks Marc I'm giving my new 10-22mm lens a good run for its money. I'm also pleased with the colours, some may not like the method used i.e. 3 different exposures blended into one but art is in the eye of the beholder

You live in a nice corner of the planet David

Shame though as you say that you don't observe from home, is that because you cannot image or is visual also out of the question?

I wish it had've been me that photographed Comet Lovejoy let alone seen it, unfortunately I had just left the day before the discovery for Christmas in Europe which is in the blooming Northern Hemisphere so I just had to read about it and saw the lovely pictures taken from Oz.
