Here is my first M16 attempt:
24 x 5 min images plus darks and bias
Scope: 80mm F 6.25 Refractor
Camera: ATIK 320E
Guiding: C9.25 with QHY5 using PHD
Mount: CGEM
I am happy with the progress... even if there is heaps to go...
You've picked up a good bit of nebulosity and detail in the core, Grant. The foreground stars are always obtrusive in this field and I'd guess from the size of the star disks that you may not have nailed focus perfectly. Do you use a Bahtinov mask?

No, I don't have a mask for the 80mm. (I use one when imaging with the C9.25" though). This is the first image I have taken with the new 80mm refractor. It is the first scope I have owned that has a micro-focuser. The ATIK definitely suits a shorter focal length.
