ED80 and webcam help

Hi all, I was testing my ED80 on Sat night with a couple of IIS members and decided to put on the webcam (SPC900) for a bit of Saturn imaging.
However, no matter how I adjusted the settings (exposure time, gain, focusing all the way in/out of the draw length etc), I just cant get an image, not even a blob . I even tried to remove the diagonal to shorten the focal length.
I used the webcam successfully with my C8, but a bit puzzled as to why I can't register on the ED80.
Am I missing something? Do I need an extender?
Thanks, Bo

An extender will do the trick.
Find your focus point during the day and mark it on your draw tube, it will save searching for it at night.
My draw tube is covered with graffiti where I've marked the focus point of my various cameras when used with extenders, reducers and barlows. It makes for quicker focusing at night. LOL A word of advice though, don't use a red niko pen.

Thanks jjj and mick,
I thought of it as I was driving back home, and I also had the Orion extender that came with my Orion Guider package in the grab bag .
So will do so tonight and mark the spot once I get it.

Hi Bo

Yes, you will need the extender. You may already see my imaging mark on the focuser.

Cheers Petra d.
