Australian Sky & Telescope

Anyone received their subscribed copy of Australian Sky & Telescope after it goes on sale (on stand) in the Newsagent?

I was give a 12 month subscription as a thankyou gift and whilst the first copy (April 2012) a couple of days prior to the on stand date I haven't seen the latest edition...which I see is displayed in the IIS Advertisements.

I think it usually reaches subscribers a day or two after.

I got mine before Easter - and it usually arrives late here on the west coast.

Still waiting for mine. Supposed to be delivered before it goes on sale.

PS: I do really love the mag though.

The May/June issue was mailed last week (from Sydney). It's unclear why this one is moving slowly through the postal system, but some subscribers already have it.

Eagerly awaiting my copy of the latest issue, considering the weather here on the coast, it will give me something to read and it is always a good read.
Must give thanks to the writers and photogs and editors that are contributing material for the magazine. I know many of you are members of this forum, your articles etc. are most appreciated.

Jeff

Hi Andrew
It's because our local posties don't like the rain

Barry,

It wasn't raining last week. They don't seem to like the sun either. Or the wind. Or the clouds. Or delivering parcels if they can leave a card and make you go collect the item.

Isn't that the truth ...they couldn't care less .. Aussie Post is NOT what it used to be.

Most Retail ' outlets ' are the same.... I was in a shop the other day... the salesman addressed me as ' hey bro' .... I felt like saying ... ' excuse me.... do I know you '

Or am I just too close to being a ' senior citizen ' manners please ...!!!

I was tempted to buy a copy from the Newsagent today whilst browsing the magazine stands.

Oh dear, how quick we forget! At the risk of defending a virtual monopoly (not normally my thing ), I'd say that AP today offers a service that is unparalleled in my 60-odd years of experience. But I'm prepared to concede that 70 or 80 year olds may remember a better time.

So fast and reliable, especially for such a sparsely populated and vast country - and how good is Express Post? I had a letter delivered overnight to Rockhampton from my one-horse town in regional Victoria! When something goes 'missing' it is inevitably because it was wrongly addressed (don't wrong postcodes do some travelling?!) or someone's telling a furphy ("Cheque's in the mail" or "I sent it today" - I wish). Very occasionally it's the postie when a letter sticks to the neighbour's mail or they drop it into 30 Smith St instead of 30 Jones St. But hey, everyone has an off day and they're usually sorted out fairly quickly.

Yep, you can have your good old days!

Cheers -
