Smile fitting a bartel goto to a eq5

Hi all
I am thinking about fitting a bartel goto system to a eq5 mount.I all have a bartel goto system fitted to my 10 inch dob which i will use to do the converson. My question is will my motors and gear boxes allow me to bolt them straight on.I have seen some mounts fitted with small motors which use a belt drive , the motors that i have are a little on the big side and i think the would hit the mount.Any info about motors / gear boxes & belt drives would be most useful.
regards
john

I've recently added motors to a Vixen (Celestron) SP mount. These are belt drive devices from Astromeccanica in Italy. They sell a kit for HEQ5 and EQ6, not sure about EQ5's.

You may want to consider fitting a set of Meade DS motors and the #472 controller, pretty easy to do and cost effective. Gives full GOTO and digital readouts etc etc.

stores.ebay.com/Telescope-Warehouse has them in stock!
