Eta Carina

Hi everyone,

I took some photos of Eta Canina last week and would like your comments to improve much further. These were taken through GSO 8" f/4 newtonian with RA motorised equatorial mount. No coma corrector used. Two images were taken through Canon 400D and third one was taken with long exposure modified philips spc880 webcam.

Image-1
This is mix of 19,29 and 45 seconds exposure.iso 800 and 60 seconds dark. I was just doing focusing and took these photos.

Image-2
Single image of 180 sec exposure, iso 400 and 180 sec dark. Mount was working so perfect that under 180 sec there was no star trailing, but the focus was very bad and I had to discard those frames.

Image-3
Taken through philips spc880, 4 frames, 10 sec exsposure.

As you said you have to sort out your focus first. A coma corrector will also improve your field. Colors are good though and guiding not bad at all for 3min subs.

Good shots Arif.

As Marc said, your tracking is good which I think is the hardest thing to achieve.

The rest is fine tuning and experimenting.

Good luck.

Ross.

The first thing everyone told me in the beginning, Focus, Focus and focus!

The rest seems to be coming along nicely. Keep at it and you'll be a very surprised by your progress in no time at all!
