autoguide setup for Celestron C8 SGT

Hello all, and BTW great forum!

I am just wanting a few ideas on which way to head on a autoguide setup for my scope. I havent yet decided on wether I will be using my DSLR or buying a CCD camera. I am pretty confussed with all the information I have read in regards to equipment. Has anyone got a good autoguide set up on this scope that would like to share some in's and out's.

Bintel sells a pretty good auto guider package for 599 if you want to have a separate scope guiding or maybe a off axis guider and guiding camera

i cannot afford it at the moment (R.I.P. bank account) but they seem to work well. i have an orion 8" f/4 scope from them and that works like a charm. i would still ask others on this site though.

autoguiding a C8 CGT

Does the mount have an autoguiding ST 4 type input? If so it will be similar to the set up I will be trying out (weather permitting) this weekend. I have a newer CGEM and I will be trying with a star shoot astro guider .
I will be trying PHD guiding software. Imaging with a DSLR.
I will let you know how I get on.
Regards
Graham
