I have receive wholesale cash account and am considering modifying these in the near future. I have been using these successfully for a while now but they are difficult to modify. I am trying to find a streamline process the either provide infomration on how to modify when we sell them or extra for modifying. The distinct advantage is that I hope to offer some warranty (maybe 3 months) after modifacation. That along with streamline modifiacation is all I am waiting to complete.

Eg shot - recently - http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/s...ad.php?t=68371
http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/s...ad.php?t=68352
http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/s...ad.php?t=68257

The first 2 were taken without a Barlow just high res where as the 3rd was taken with a 3 x Barlow on low res.

I also just placed some photo on my personal page but web address is going to change shortly so I wont put it here. PM me if you need it as it will contain high resolution than the forum.

Pulling it to pieces is difficult. Not much mods are required but still have to open it up. My latest attpmpt required a hacksaw but i am trying to avoid this in new mods if possible.

Got one off ebay today for $50 'factory refurbished'. There is dust all over the lens internally (or on the chip??) so that rules it out for normal use.
How did you go about opening it up if you don't mind sharing? Keep me informed of how you go with your business idea, might be interested in the future.
Also what is the quality like on the full retail models? Hopefully better then the 'factory refurbished' one!

Got it opened up and the lens removed and mounted it to the base of my 9mm bintel plossl (without the lens obviously) using some electrical tape. Now just waiting for some dark and a hole in the clouds to point it at...

After taking the white part out, I then screw in a Mogg Adaptor into it. This white section I hacksawed out to avoid pulling the camera board inside.

The silver section comes off fairly easily whereas the white section does not.
It cant be forced off as it will distort or damage the CCD sensor. This i found on my first unit. Distortion cause a colour issue while imaging.

The SNC900 Mogg adaptor just fits but there is a concern that there is not much thread to hold onto. The only other one is too long and crushes the sensor. I want to work on the best option and may require me to source or manufacture a seperate one.

I have gone through 3 units so far to come up with solutins so far, i need one more to to improve removal technique.
