I think we had forgotten what Victorian weather can be like, 10 years of drought has gotten us used to the dry, but I noticed his year much more cloud cover than previous, and now a splash of heavy rain has given us hope that we can see an end to drought conditions, but then it slips over to the other side and floods.
I am currently looking across the upper yarra valley and all the paddocks are flooded, not to a dangerous level but it gives the impression of looking outnover a large lake.
My wife is currently traveling to Brisbane and she sent me an SMS to tell me that just west of Dalby is flooded and lots of water across the road. I don't remember floods at this time of the year.
I know Roma as had it's wettest year in something like 30'years and still more to come.
I Don't know, Daniel.
I haven't been up that end of town. I am driving around as little as possible until this mess is over.
There will be no club night this month as the road to the clubroom has washed away and no good fixing it this week in case it happens again. It has washed away twice in 2 weeks
That's a bugger Ken, well it seems the bulk of the heavy rain is over but with some showers still through the week.
Unfortunately some of the major rivers are still about to peak.
The Wimmera River was meant to peak at Horsham today. Due to a crook leg, I haven't been able to get down to the river to get some photos, but here are some links from the local paper and the BOM.
Now they reckon we can expect a crap mosquioto season, as the stagnant waters left behind will be a breeding ground for these satanic nightmares. Awesome. We got off lightly the last 2 years, in 2008/9 the heat murdered all crappy bugs thank god and in 09/10 there was just no mosquiotos here for some unknown reason. This would certainly be a fitting end to this fecal excuse for a year.

All is good. The lake is full, the ducks are happy, the Spoonbills and Ibis have returned, and thank goodness because of the gentle slope of the land towards the lake the ground isn't boggy.
