Lightbulb 5 months since the forum structure changes..

Hi all

It's been 5 months since the forum structure changes here at IceInSpace, and lately I've really been noticing some of the positive changes that the new structure has introduced.

I'm really enjoying seeing the increasing use of the expanded Beginners Area, with Beginners Talk, Beginners Astrophotography and Beginners Equipment Discussions getting a lot of use, especially with newcomers to the forum and to the hobby - as well as those taking their first dive into Astrophotography.

I know a lot of people simply use their subscribed threads, or 'new posts' to read all the new content, which is great, but for everyone else..

What are your thoughts, 5 months on?
How does the layout feel now?

Any other changes you'd suggest or would like to see?

Thanks for your continued support of IceInSpace!

I'm a "New Posts" person. So I'm seldom paying attention to which forum I am in. In fact, I only do so when I want to start a thread. Certainly there is plenty of activity "across the board"! I just checked and every Forum has current posts, today or yesterday, only one forum going back to 28th July is the most ancient. That is pretty remarkable (even the radio astronomy forum! )

Initially I found it a little confusing but I have to say until I saw your post about it being 5 months on I had completely forgotten that it had been changed so Must be good feels like home again.

Given my prime interest is Astrophotography , it's the deep sky section followed by new posts, I have to confess I have not paid a lot of attention to the beginners images, although I can see it as a good thing to have a beginners section, as the quality of the deep sky section can be intimidating even if you have done it for years.

Some new and refreshing emoticons would be nice

I love changing the furniture around every now and again, it makes you go to other places in the forums that you dont normally go to, i run straight to general chat and that is as far as i get most times haha

Umm speaking of chat you dont think a chat room could be on the cards in the near future
