I have for sale a Saxon 8" maksutov cassegrain OTA which is motor focus ready. This is in excellent condition and combined with a motor focuser and some decent eyepieces (not supplied) this will give great images, visually and photographically. The focuser will allow perfect pinpoint focusing as well as the ability to connect to laptop control via shoestring FCUSB control unit. just buy a swelfocus motor and attach to the brackets which are fixed to the ota and you are ready. This has served me well and I sell this reluctantly. I am moving more into deep space imaging and unfortunately I need to sell this to fund my next OTA.
Also included is a 2" diagonal and a 9x50 finder, tube rings and dovetail.
Focal length = 2500mm @ f-12.3
comes in custom home made padded storage box. (it works well)
This OTA can be bought new from my astro shop for $1800.

i have had to remove the focus motor to put on another ota which i thought was to have one.
however, the brackets are still fixed to the OTA so all one needs to do is buy a swellfocus motor and with the 2 supplied screws, just screw it on and you will have a motorised focuser.
sorry to have to do this, but even without the focus motor it is still very much well woth the money.
i am sorry to say to those interested in this scope that i have to withdraw this from sale fro the moment. the scope which i am replacing this with will not arrive for about 2 months i am told.
i will be putting this up for sale again in the near future so watch out for it.
