? comma corrector needed for 8inch Newt

Hi all
I am begining my travels in astrophotography. I am currently experimenting with prime focus work with a DSLR.
My question is whether a Baader MPCC would be useful, all I have read so far seems to suggest that they are mostly used with eyepieces and not with prime focus photography.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

cheers

chris

Get thee a 2" low profile crayford focusor , and the buy either a Tele Vue Visual Paracorr or a Baader MFCC or both. (both is idea - you can view conveniently without needing to use complicated sets of spacer rings with the Paracorr , but it's not much chop for imaging , that's where the MPCC comes into it's own.

if you are interested in astroimaging , the MFCC is the go , it'll go straight onto the camera bayonet and act as your 2" nose piece , simple as that , providing you aren't going to use an off axis guider (it gets complicated the as spacings are an issue .... I don't think anyone has sorted that one out with the usual off the shelf OAGs (Lumicon 2" Newt EayGuider, etc).

Thanks Ian
I can already get focus with the standard profile focuser and the DSLR, so I don't need a low profile but will upgrade to one with fine focus some time. I think that I'll go for the MPCC first.

Cheers
