Focal Reducer + 2x Barlow

Hi,

I have never used a reducer so I am unsure of how it all works.

I currently use a Skywatcher ED80, generally, is there a benefit to using a reducer in this situation?

Also, currently if I use a 2x Barlow then the Moon is just a bit too big. If I was to use a reducer + the 2x Barlow then, I think, I might able to get the Moon in the FOV and at the right size. Is my thinking correct here?

Thanks in advanced for any help.

Daniel...
