Yikes! - What’s Happening?

I come here every day but for some reason I just noticed now that ‘General Chat’ only contains half a dozen threads!

It used to go on for several pages. I’ve been here a long time and have watched members come and go, but it’s so sad to see my favourite section dwindling almost to nothing.

Well, enough rambling. Just a thought 🙁

I have noticed that things have gone quiet lately, especially Beginners
Astrophotography; no pics posted today or yesterday, also, we are only getting about half the
entries for the monthly photo competition that we were about nine months or so ago.

Things change and one must realise that these days there are many astronomy groups that can only dilute the time folk give to say this site.

On face book there are many groups for various aspects of the game...zwo cameras, RASA scopes, Pixinsite etc ... and so this can only mean as there are all these other places folk will have less time for here...

I have not been imaging for a little while because there is nothing up there that I haven't had a go at and I am learning how to sleep again while I wait.

Now general chat is a great place but given the membership very few contribute...many the time I have put up something merely to contribute...and all I suggest is if one feels general chat is losing ground take a little time to post something...

Now just look at how Col contributes..it takes time to put together his posts to make us laugh...there are plenty of jokes out there and I am sure Col would not fear the competition...start a gardening thread..OK I will

AND I will do a fresh boat build thread...and perhaps others can try and put something up that interests them so as to have a "General chat".
AND folk will come because there is always something...
