Lagoon in Narrowband

A blend of SHO and ForaxX pallet
https://photos.app.goo.gl/YzSboM7bzzBhXMGm6

The next two are SiiGOii with Ha as Luminance. I think I'm going to do this more often. I like it.

Excellent work John.

Don't forget to crop out the stacking artefacts.

See you down in 'Deep Space' soon

Hi John,

Anything I can say will be a repeat of what Alex and Peter have said. Your images are spectacular - stunning colours (I think I prefer the ForaxX palette over the Hubble colour scheme - heretic that I am. +grin+) and the incredible detail within the nebula areas.

Very, very well done.

Cheers,
V

I really like the colours in the second set. Any details to share on the pixel math for that one?

Right so after looking at Dillan O 'Donnel (sp?) talk about imaging in HaGOiii
I have been trying to take some green subs so I can muck around later.

I only took 15min worth of Green but it seems you don't need much.

Anyway after doing standard SHO stuff I started looking at HaGOiii but still didn't like it.

I then fluked the pallet in the second and third Image.
It is
Sii - Red 100%
G - Green 100%
Oiii Blue 100%

but then I use the Ha channel for Luminance.

I'm not overly fond of the auto stretching pixinsight does and even with SHO I use a manually tuned stretch of Ha for Luminance.

It all depends what you want. I don't want washed out details in the Nebula only to pick up the mucky brown background found in the milky way.

Mucky brown in the background is cool! It’s all stars and gas
But thanks for the explanation. I might try this colour combo once the rain clears and I can get some data on the Eagle

Here's a mucky version for you LOL.

This one just uses the auto stretched Ha and it looks like crap.
There definitely would be a version where you get some background with a nice nebula but I'm not sure I care to make it. Maybe I'll have a go.

Anyway Eagle is my next target too. Lets hope I don't have to wait four months again for a clear night.

A slightly less bad version with background.

I just churned this one out, I'm sure it could be improved if I spent some time polishing it.

Still to lazy to crop it
