Celestron Power Tank question

Charging my Celestron Power Tank has proved difficult.
Never seems to reach 'FULLY CHARGED' or 'READY TO USE'.
Somewhere on the internet I found suggestions to get a smart charger.
So, I now have a Battery Tender 800 Junior charger, with battery clips and ring terminals.
Having no real electrical knowledge, and a fear of combustion , I need to find out how to connect the charger to the power tank.
Can I connect the charger to the battery terminals on the Power Tank, rather than the 12V input socket?
Thanks for any and all advice!

Assuming it's got a gel-type battery then yes, just connect the charger to the battery terminals. Just make sure the charger is set to 12v (if it's got multiple output options).
