Excellent review Andy

I own one myself and I'm very satisfied with it. Very easy to track objects using the slow motion controls and I highly recommend it for small scopes.

And thanks for the link to your own comments Geoff. When I made up my mind to go for the Porta I was tempted to go for one of the packages with the scope included. The 130mm reflector seems like a great deal.
However diplomatic relations in the household would have been in jeopardy if another telescope had arrived! I count myself lucky to have a new mount.
I will need to sell off some stuff before any more purchases.

I've been thinking about picking up a smallish refractor and the Vixen Porta Mount has been on my follow-up list...thanks for the review...
