Meade LX-90 ACF 8inch (Sydney area)

DESCRIPTION (2010 model, SN108921)
The Meade LX90-ACF is a powerful but compact astronomical telescope with 203mm (8 inch) aperture, GPS location finder, and tracking and go-to functions. It has a computer control system which, after setting up, can locate over 30 000 objects in the sky including planets, star clusters, galaxies and nebulae. The audiostar controller also delivers a spoken commentary on selected objects. The ACF optics with UHTC coatings deliver sharp flat images without coma (distortion) which is present in most other telescope designs. The telescope drives can be powered with on-board batteries, or a separate car battery, or from 240V mains power via a transformer and cable.
Accessories include an Audiostar controller and cable and bracket, 8x50 finderscope and alignment rings, diagonal prism, 26mm plossl eyepiece, barlow lens, bubble level and compass, medium density filter, blue filter, 240V AC to 12V DC transformer and cable; all kept in a lightweight toolbox for secure transport and storage. The fork mount is supported on a Meade field tripod with adjustable height legs. Instruction manuals, planetarium software, and a flexible dew/glare shield are also included.

CONDITION
The OTA, fork mount, and accessories are in very good condition with no marks visible on the optics or exterior surfaces. The OTA and fork mount are kept in a padded case for safe transport and storage.

HISTORY
Sold by Bintel to its first owner in 2011; I bought it five years ago but now observe with large aperture dobs or a small lightweight travelscope.

SALE
Asking price is $1500. Inspect and pick up from the Ryde/Meadowbank area in Sydney. Replies by PM please.
