QHY9C setupquery

Hi Everyone,

I have been wondering about the setup of a QHY9C one shot colour. I have some spacers and a Meade 5000 APO ED80 and a Sextuplet SkyRover 130mm. I was wondering how you work out the correct distance for spacing with this CCD (or if there is a formula for determining this).

I found a guide someone made and I think it is suggesting 26mm for the ED80 but wondering how to work out the 130mm. Any ideas?

My old QHY9 mono was 17.5mm back focus and I can only assume that the colour version is similar.
As for the Sky Rover, it should be 55mm from the M48 dovetail adapter, been designed as a perfect fit for Canon DSLR.

Thanks for your input and always valued. The visuals on the sextuplet are fantastic. Now into imaging and was about to try my hand with the Canon DSLR on it.

Thanks for the info on QHY9. Sorry if you have given that before in previous discussion. 55mm - ok will give that a go with the QHY9C. I have an Orion 7 position filter wheel (USB) and was wondering if this has impact on spacing in terms of subtracting the space / width / depth of the filter wheel in the imaging equipment length?

Everything goes into the back focus distance so you've got the camera, filter wheel and any adapters.

For my setup for example I have 74.5mm from the M68 thread so...
10mm M68 to PDF, 4mm PDF to M54, filter wheel is 17mm filter wheel, 1mm M54 to M42, 11mm continuous M42 thread and 6.5mm from M42 to sensor. You also need to subtract 1/3 of filter thickness (also for CCD chambers windows ect.), PDF is 25.4mm and 1.27mm at 1000 steps.

10+25.4+1.27+4+17-1+1+11+6.5= 75.17mm which is close enough to 74.5mm for my setup. Yours has less components
