That damn Murphy!!!

Had an 18th Birthday party this afternoon at a local Pub, family and friends came back to our place, drinking, eating and playing guitar on our 3rd floor veranda...sun goes down, sky is perfectly clear..should I leave this merriment and drive out to the Obs..?..should I..?...look at wife...look up at sky...look back at wife...she has a smile and nods, "off you go dear, I'll look after this bunch"

Get 2Ltrs of beer from brewery downstairs, drive out, open up, boot up, get set, have a beer (Mmmm tastes goooood) start imaging.. seeing is excellent! yaaay ...3 X 5min subs down...look out of the dome slit.. white stuff everywhere ...wait 20min, looks bad, pack up, drive home (small consolation - get hot dog with bacon and cheese on the way )

Soooo, meah, this is 4 X 5min subs two of which were affected by cloud and just thought I'd post for fun, cause the detail suggests what could have been, eg. the fine thin dark wiggly lines, like a web, within the bright central section are rarely revealed... aaah sighhh ....

...when the seeing is good Murphy sends clouds...thanks you Irish git

Every time I look at one of these images, I think it looks like someone giving the universe the bird... It's not Murphy that you should be annoyed at... The statue is giving you the bird Mike

Very nice seeing too!

Hi Al ...it was from a road side fast food van, I usually miss it cause it closes at 3am, which is usually before I am driving home but when cloud thwarts my efforts on a Thurs, Fri or Sat night... I tend to grab some comfort food on the way home

It was the best seeing I have seen in a while Rex, would have been nice if the clouds had just hung off for another 40min or so even, then I would have at least had a top notch Ha set I could have used as a bit of a luminance, 20min of cloud affected Ha data is a bit thin ...but fingers crossed I get another bit of good seeing.

Try Ouzo next time Mike.
Two litres of Ouzo always yields better seeing even if the clouds do roll in.

Seriously though, beautiful start to this image mate.

It seems to me that one needs to set up the observatory for remote operation. Have the best of both worlds, imaging and beers

I would, just the cost mate, need a new mount, new observatory, new computers, new software, a good data link etc....

But should I ever be in a financial position to do it.......I will probably find something else to do with the money ..unless it was a big win fall of course

Until then, it will remain a (buy beer) drive out, open up, babysitting (complaining ) affair

Funny story Mike and one we can all relate to.
The excellent data is a bit of a tease.
