We combined aurora chasing with the TSE in Svalbard to make a very worthwhile month-long trip to the arctic.
This image was taken from Bjorkliden, near Abisko NP in Sweden, in early March.
The air was very clear, so plenty of stars right down to the horizon. The right hand half of the image has the beginning of an aurora, so the sky appears brighter.
Easily visible (L-R) are Orion's belt, Betelgeuse, Aldeberan and M45 (all upside down, of course).
