Galaxy Tilt

Here's a similar shot to my "Off the edge" image posted recently. This one was taken on the same walking track but from a different position. I noticed that the tree line was parallel with the Milky Way and thought it would make a nice shot.

Canon 6D, Samyang 14mm @ F2.8 , 30 second exp, ISO 6400

Large

Hope you enjoy.

Cheers

Rod

Awesome.

I wish the lights weren't there. That'd be an absolute screamer of an image!

Cheers H!

I cloned out a nasty tail light trail from one car and probably could of kept going a little but thought some of the lights added a little depth to the lower foreground. I'll have a play in PS and see how it looks. Thanks for the feedback.

I like this better than "Off the edge" as that bright blue light from the town is less dominant (might be worth cloning that out altogether?).

To me this is what a nightscape with Trees and Milky Way should look like, lovely processing and so natural, the trees look fantastic with a slight blur but still sharp, feels like I am there on that track but in colour, very well done.

Thanks for your feedback and comments Mike! I've been trying to create natural style with my work, it's nice to know I'm on the right track.

I wanted to clone that bright light out, in both images, but I kept making a mess of it PS. Cloning is quite a delicate technique to master I feel.

At the risk of being called a "cheat" by my dad I've uploaded version with the lights tidied up.

Cheers Rod

Thanks Carlos

Its a pretty dark spot despite the Gunnedah being down the hill behind me. Made processing an easy task.

Cheers

With or without the light/s it is a cracker of a natural Milky Way and trees shot

Looks good Rod.

I think these shots is all about the composition and framing otherwise they all tend to look the same.

Greg.

Thanks Greg!

I agree . Subject , composition and framing are all key ( I feel I could have lowered my framing slightly for this one. For some reason I was wanting to keep Hadar in frame ) . In addition, a processing style is another element that can distinguish one nightscape or photographer from another.
