encoders for dob project

Hi folks
seeking encoders to suit a dob project.
ideal would be 10,000 step/rev, 1/4" shaft as per Argo Navis
though ~4000step might do.
if you have spare/surplus
then send me a PM
thanks for looking.
Happy New Year

hi Big Blue.
You may want to PM Glend as I believe he has recently performed a similar operation on his DOB.

I don't have any spares but can advise on sources. Mine (10,000 step) came from USDigital. You can possibly get them from Astro Devices here, also I believe Wildcard does sell them as well but only to Argo Navis customers.

If you check the Wildcard site they have an online order form that allows you to order either 10k or 5k encoders, and it certainly doesn't have any indication that it is not possible to buy as a single item.
I have had Gary make me several custom parts to help me get a non Argo DSC systems up and running and he has never been anything but helpful and corteous. Of course I do own an AN anyway, but still worth a try!

edit: I have just had a read of his terms and Gary certainly only sells mount hardware kits to AN owners, still worth a try to see if he will sell encoders!

Thanks Allan, Glen, Malcolm
I will wait a little longer to see if anything turns up.
& otherwise will pursue your suggestions.
While I plan to use a JMI MiniMax that I already have, the ultimate aim is to step up to AN as the Holy Grail !
cheers
Gerry
