11 hour timelapse of the night sky

Hi all, I began this sequence on the 9th June at 6:30pm and left the camera running taking 40 second exposures till 5:30am on the 10th June. Used a 14mm Samyang f2.8 lens and compiled the images in Lightroom 4. Taken near Port Lincoln, South Australia. Hope you like it.

That's excellent, Lester. Are you able to add some suitable music?

Nice!
Did you have a white balance set on the camera or was it on auto? just looks like there is a little bit of colour change throughout. Awesome though

Thanks for the comments. I am still to learn how to add music to these. Yes I had the WB on auto. The images were in two different folders as the camera clock clicked over from one day to the next, so I may have adjusted the developing sliders in Lightroom differently for the second. I had the frame rate at 15fps, as I think any faster and the short meteors would be completely lost in the faster movement.

All the best.

Awesome piece of work !!!

To add music/sound you may use YAMB [yamb.exe]
Google for it. It is a free application and I think it also allows to add subtitles - how about adding a time stamp?

Great work Lester The WB colour changes are a little distracting though. You mentioned you used LR so am I right in assuming that these were RAW files? If you ever decide to re-edit it one day, I would love to see how it looks with all the WB's synced to one setting.

Here is an improved version with the processing of the two folders of images done together to avoid any fluctuations. Also got this one running a bit slower at 12fps and IMO an improvement to pick up the fleeting meteors.

Hi Lester,
It is a very nice presentation, but, in my opinion, it’s to quiet.
From the top of the shelf I found a piece of music that is 1:20 long and using YAMB mixed with your file (I hope you don’t mind). Here is the result:
