2nd attempt at saturn

Hi all,

This is my 2nd go at imaging saturn (3rd for a planet in general). Captured with my Meade lx90 8" sct (eyepiece projection), DSLR, BackyardEOS and stacked in Registax. Best 400 frames used out of 1000.

Levels and small curve adjustment in PS5, but nothing major.

Comments welcome. I'm keen to learn how to improve my processing.

I'm also considering a DBK 21AU618.AS planetary cam. See http://www.bintel.com.au/Astrophotog...oductview.aspx
Will I be able to get better images?

I hear you can also use it as an autoguider with PHD. Is this correct? I'm also keen on photographing deep space objects as well. I'm hoping to use the DSLR for that.

Cheers,
Aaron

You might be better of getting a ZWO camera. I can lend you one to try out if you wish, I drive to Blackheath every 2nd week, so maybe we could meet up. It gets similar results to the 618 and is much cheaper. You are welcome to borrow it for a few weeks.

Thanks guys and thanks for the generous offer Peter! I don't know much about the ZWO cameras, but happy to find out more. How do they compare with the image source cams?

I've found that you get as good a quality at nearly half the price. Well worth a look.
