Testing Baader UHCs on Orion

Wanting to be able to image from home I recently started looking into filters, I eventually settled on the Baader UHCs, as a bit of a compromise between a narrow band filter and a light pollution reduction filter.

The filter performed very well, it let me extend my subs by a factor of 3, and I could definitely push that even further.

This is the result of 100 x 20 second exposures with canon 60D @ ISO2000 on my 100ED f7.6 CG5 setup.

Darks, bias and flats applied in deep sky stacker, finished off in photoshop.

I must admit I've had a bit of a hard time balancing colours in this image, but I had that problem previously as well, so it's hard to say how the filter affected that.

Anyone else use a similar filter with their DSLR? What do you do to get the colours 'right' when processing?

Thanks for looking
