First attempt at the Moon with new equipment

Was up until 3:30am this morning capturing Saturn and the Moon. Was pleased of the footage I captured of the Moon. I used a 2x Barlow on Saturn but it was still small so I might need a 3x, 5x might be overkill for my scope.

Here it is.

Captured with 130 SLT, NexImage 5 @ 1296x972, stacked 250 frames.

Image compressed down to JPEG in order to upload onto the forums, have the originals.

Thanks.

I have included a second attempt I just finished now.

It was taken at higher quality (using the cameras full 5MP 2592x1944 resolution). Had to minimize the size to appropriately upload it here.

You can already see how much more quality you can get with the extra pixels. The only downside is the disk space the RAW video takes and limited FPS.

I am using iCap software which is the one that comes on the CD with the camera.

Settings I forgot to save them so I know for next time. Recording video at max resolution brings out more detail but you are very limited to the FPS as well as uncompressed file size. My videos are turning out to be GB's so I still need to experiment the best compression method.
