Question EP to find targets 12"Dob

We pick up our Bintel 12" Dob next week. Supplied with 32mm 2" EP. We're thinking of maybe Bintel doing a deal and upgrade to a Meade 30mm SP or a
2" 32mm QX this EP will be used to find targets. Our Dob is standard without tracking. Any thoughtshttp://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/i...cons/icon5.gif

30mm Superview will do better than the 32mm RKE. afaik the QX is not much better just lot more expensive. Anything over 30mm is for use by young astronomers under dark skies only (due to exit pupil > 6mm). 60 degree Meade 5000 plossls, 26 or 32mm, are good value and work quite well at f5 (better than the superview; coma from the mirror is the main issue but that's going to be there with any EP).

Thanks for a quick reply Steve

Your comments helped greatly, and after checking reviews we made the decision to get the 30mm Superview.

Thanks Again

the 30mm SV makes a great "finder" EP
it should do you well.
