Which telescope?

Want to try my hand at astrophotography. I have a Canon 40D camera but no telescope. I've read several web pages and forum posts looking for advice on which telescope to buy but still haven't worked which would be best for me. I want to take photos of planets mostly. My budget could stretch up to $4,000 -$6,000 (haven't finalized negotiations with the boss yet). Some of the telescopes I've been looking at are the Celestron CPC 925 GPS XLT, CPC 1100 XLT & CGEM 925 and the Meade LX200 ACF 10". Any of these more or less suitable? Can I use my 40D with all of these? Also read an article recommending a "fast" refractor scope instead. Thoughts?
