Dark skies over Jindabyne

Just took a couple of quick pics of the sky over the house, the Christmas beetles have just hatched here in their thousands so I didn't bother taking the scopes out.

This is a typical sky here in the mountains (having said that it will now rain for a month)

Nikon F7000 AF-S 12 - 24mm F4 ED on tripod at 12mm ISO 3200, F4 , 20seconds.

That's dark alright!

I'm sold, I was planning only today a trip away for a week with my two darlings - wife and scope, and one of those places was Jindabyne. A small cottage with a back or front yard should do.

Good shot too.

Great image Matt

I have a similar situation at my place, dark skies and Chrissy beetles as well.

I'll have to have a go at one of these shots as well.

That is just ridiculous!

Can you take some daytime shots of the Chrissy beetles? My daughter loves them!
