I wont bother listing the stars names..in passing..isnt it mind blowing the stars out there..just a small section of an ordinary galaxy which is one of billions or perhaps trillions...
ANYWAYS....I am working hard to get my act together, centered mainly on getting the RASA to work for me but I have actually been learning stuff about what goes into a good photo..Things like ADU and Histograms and signal to noise, and calibration and well depth etc...so now that I know everything
I have started trying to incorporate calibration into my approach
.
Not only have I been working on the RASA but also a widefield set up and last night gave it a run...mainly because I thought the perfectly clear night would cloud in once I got the RASA fired up...plus running this enabled me to do much needed work in the observatory cause the floor vibration does not interfere with imaging at this focal length...
So using a Nikon D5500 camera, on EQ5 mount, 20 second subs..I forget how many ( took 650 of stuff all over) and on this one ISO 3200.
But the big deal for me was I did darks, flats and dark flats (no bias) and stacked in Deep Sky Stacker and processed in Startools and Photoshop.
I am colour blind so I tried controlling the colour by the using the graph in Startools and dialing back individual colours in Photoshop ...My idea was to dial back on say green and purple approach..I have no idea if it works but perhaps better than before where I just saved what I liked
.
So a little section in Sagittarius.
So please tell me what I am obviously doing wrong in your view and anything you can offer to help me improve...
Forgot to mention exact focal length but maybe 150mm but the key point is it was a 70/200 mm lens that cost only $200
