First light rasa

It has been a long time but managed something tonight
.
Could not connect the ZWO 2600 mono so this was the ZWO2600 mc.

Many problems but I have not been able to test or work on this scope because of health problems and weather.

The electric focuser stopped working so manual focus was very difficult and no mask.

The thing was covered in dew but here is 15 minutes worth at 30 seconds and 250 gain.

This first image is odd and I dont know if it was because of dew or I stuffed up processing..second is a crop which all things considered I am happy with..particularly as last night my first attempt I could not achieve focus.

Lots of things to work on but happy to at last to get started on this project.

Congratulations Alex, finally your getting the RASA producing images. Do you have dew heaters that will work on that scope?

Thanks Glen, I used the dew heater from the 115 mm but after these subs it was totally dew covered. I imaged another object with the dew heater going but by the end only half the corrector plate was clear...so first thing Monday Bintel will be called upon...But as I was getting something on the screen I did not care..the next images were 400gain at sixty seconds...no guiding and the mount was only polar aligned months ago and not too flash but it seemed ok...but I am happy with how I can get something in a very short time.

why worry about dew..I am surprised given the dew..60 seconds at 400 gainbut an hour approx all up...happy that stars are reasonable.
Not flash but tonight tells me when things are working this scope should go rather well.

Ordinarily I would have thrown out all these subs but being first light prevents me and I can learn things..like buy a dew strip, . ... So please understand I do realise these are terrible images .

Great start with that big telescope
I’m sure you will iron out all the little issues
It’s not an easy scope to use from what I’ve read and seen but once it’s all dialed in you will be producing some awesome images
Well done !!

I had another go and tried to be conservative, it was only 15 minutes so I think before I was pushing the brightness maybe...anyways it looked better on my monitor but until I see it here it is hard to tell.

First one looks like Dew became an issue, you may need to get a dew hood for the rasa
