Imaging with ED80

Tonight I tried something new. I imaged through my ED80 at prime focus and guided with my main scope. First time I used the ED80 with the QHY8. I managed 30min on the Tarentula in Ha before the clouds rolled in.

Looking at the subs my stars are square (nearly). My image scale is 2.68 arcsec/pixel. On my 5" it was 2.47 arcsec/pixel. I didn't think it would make a big difference but visually it's very noticeable. I shot at 1x1 [no binning]. If I shoot at binning 2x2 my understanding is that 4 pixels will make 1. Besides increasing the SNR would it also reduce my under-sampling problem?
(I would have tried if those clouds didn't show up ).

Thanks for any pointers ... until the next sucker hole.

Figured it out at: http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/s...ad.php?t=38764
